At Idaho Center for Reproductive Medicine (ICRM), we understand how important the safe handling and transfer of embryos and gametes is to your family-building journey. To help ensure the highest level of laboratory safety and compatibility, all incoming embryos and gametes must meet specific laboratory criteria before they can be accepted into our care.
Approved Cryopreservation Devices
ICRM may consider embryos for transfer into our laboratory if they were cryopreserved using one of the following approved devices:
- Vitriguard
- Cryotop
- Cryotech
- Cryolock
- Rapid-I
Approved Cryopreservation Media
Embryos must also have been cryopreserved using one of the following approved media:
- Irvine
- Kitazato
- Sage
- Rapid Vit (Vitrolife)
- Cryo-Tech
Important to Know
For ICRM to consider accepting embryos into our laboratory, they must have been frozen using both:
- An approved cryopreservation device, and
- An approved cryopreservation medium
Meeting these requirements allows our embryology team to begin the review process, but it does not guarantee acceptance.
Final Review by Our Embryology Team
Each embryo or gamete transfer request is carefully reviewed by our embryology team. Final acceptance is based on several factors, including laboratory compatibility and additional clinical criteria, to ensure we can safely care for and store your embryos or gametes.
